Basic Swedish autumn 2018
Basic Swedish is a language course for exchange students and master students at Uppsala University. Exchange students have priority to the courses. The application form must be submitted no later than Monday January 27, 2018.

- Diagnostic test: August, 29 at 6pm in Ihresalen
- Publication of groups/lists of participants: September 3
- Courses start: September 5 or September 6
- Courses end: November 28 or November 29
- Exams: December 3-6

You can find the on-line application from August 1 to 27. Last day to apply is Monday August 27. The application form must be completed with your P/T number.
If you haven´t completed the Basic Swedish course an earlier semester and you want to continue the course, please do not apply again. Instead, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so that you can be re-registered if there are available spots on the course.
A diagnostic test for new students applying for Basic Swedish levels 2, 3 and 4 will take place on August 29 at 6pm in room 21-0011 'Ihresalen', Thunbergsvägen 3L. Please note, beginners or students who have already passed Basic Swedish levels 1, 2 or 3 and wish to continue studying Swedish DO NOT NEED to take the diagnostic test.
Notification about admission, course start and designated group will be announced on September 3 on the notice boards opposite room 7-2012, Thunbergsvägen 3L, and at www.nordiska.uu.se (click on ‘Basic Swedish’).
Please note, no individual acceptance letters will be sent out.
The Swedish courses commence on September 5 or September 6, depending on which group you are in. Students are obligated to attend the first week's lectures, and if you are unable to do so you must send an email to email@example.com before the start of the course.
Students enrolled in Basic Swedish are obligated to attend classes, complete homework and purchase course material. This can be bought in class for approximately SEK 150 – 350, depending on the level of Swedish you are studying. Courses run during the entire semester, and meet twice a week.
To receive a passing grade, students must attend 75 per cent of the lessons and pass both a written and listening exam.

The exams will take place no later than December 4, with the possibility for a retake on December 19. If you are not able to sit the exam either of these dates, it will only be possible to sit the exam at the end of spring 2019.
