About programmes
The department coordinates the Faculty of Languages' Bachelor's Programme in Languages. We also offer a Master's Programme in Swedish with the specializations Multilingualism and Swedish as a Second Language as well as Swedish and Scandinavian languages. The department also participates in the Master's Programme in Scandinavian Studies, coordinated by the Department of Literature, and is responsible for the Swedish and Swedish as a secondary language courses in the Upper Secondary School Teacher Education Programme.

Swedish courses
We at the Department of Scandinavian Languages offer the following courses for students with other first languages than Swedish:
The courses are free of charge and are available at different levels.

Basic Swedish (for exchange students and international Bachelor's and Master's students)

Swedish for Academics (for employees at Uppsala Úniversity)

Qualifying Courses in Swedish as a Foreign Language (level 1, 2 and 3) (each level consists of full time studies during one semester)

Svenska för akademiska studier (for students with basic qualification in Swedish, who wish to improve their Swedish skills in academic contexts)
At our department you can take the TISUS-test (Test In Swedish for University Studies).
